Published one-off SOC 2 prices for startups start at $3,995 (SecureLeap's fixed Gap Assessment) and reach $25,000 for a full readiness package (Dcybr Hybrid). The CPA audit fee is usually extra. These are the prices 11 consultancies publish on their own websites, checked on 3 November 2026.
- One-off SOC 2 entry prices run from $3,995 (SecureLeap Gap Assessment, fixed) to $12,000 (Dcybr Type 1 readiness, fixed).
- Monthly programmes start at EUR 1,500 a month (Atoro) and $3,000 a month (CITSAP). Across the 12 firms in our survey that publish a USD monthly entry tier, the median is $2,750.
- Only 14 of 110 consultancies we surveyed publish a SOC 2 price at all. The rest quote after a call.
SOC 2 Consultancy Prices Compared
Six of the 11 publish a one-off price for SOC 2 work; the other five price it as a monthly or annual programme. Every price is as published, in its own currency.
How We Chose These 11 SOC 2 Consultancies
Every firm on this list publishes a SOC 2 price on its own website, so you can compare real prices before you book a call.
- Where the firms come from: 116 entries in two directories, the ismsdirectory.com Consulting list (46 firms) and the soc2auditors.org SOC 2 readiness list (70 firms). After removing duplicates that is 111 firms, 110 besides SecureLeap.
- What counts as a price: only a figure on the firm's own website. Directory figures, market estimates in blog posts and compliance platform prices were not counted. On 3 November 2026, 30 of the 110 published any price and 14 published one that covers SOC 2.
- Order: SecureLeap first, then fixed one-off prices, then from prices, then monthly and annual programmes.
- Currencies and locations: prices stay in the currency each firm publishes, with nothing converted or added across currencies. Locations appear only where the firm's own page states them.
- Disclosure: SecureLeap publishes this post and lists itself first. No firm paid to be listed.
The 11 SOC 2 Consultancies for Startups
Each profile says who the firm suits and what its published price buys, with the page the price comes from.
1. SecureLeap
Best for startups that want a fixed price before committing to a full SOC 2 project: the SOC 2 Gap Assessment costs $3,995 or EUR 3,595, fixed, for a gap report and remediation roadmap in 2 to 3 weeks. Audit Ready and All-In are quoted within 24 hours of a scoping call; All-In adds the penetration test and the audit fee on one invoice. vCISO Navigator costs $2,500 or EUR 2,500 a month on a 12-month commitment for ongoing security leadership after the audit. Based in Porto, Portugal; SecureLeap publishes this post.
2. Dcybr
Best for teams of up to 25 people on one cloud environment: fixed SOC 2 readiness packages at $12,000 for Type 1, $18,000 for Type 2 (adds 90-day observation monitoring) and $25,000 for the Hybrid package, which covers Type 1 readiness and then Type 2. Penetration testing is not included; the page lists it as an add-on at market rate. Extra employees, cloud environments and Trust Services Criteria categories are priced add-ons, so a larger team can work out its figure before a call.
3. Com Sec
Best for startups that want readiness through to the final report in one package: the Full SOC 2 Audit Package is $18,500 all-inclusive and lists readiness, evidence collection, GRC platform support and auditor coordination. A lighter compliance and audit readiness engagement (SOC 2 Type I or II, ISO 27001 and other frameworks) starts at $6,000. vCISO services start at $2,500 a month if you want the same firm after the audit.
4. Control and Function
Best for startups that want to choose how much of the work to hand over: SOC 2 readiness coaching from $8,000 (4 to 8 weeks, your team drives) or full readiness from $15,000 (12 to 16 weeks, the firm drives), both stated as fixed price. The audit is excluded. A $2,500 Readiness Diagnostic comes first if you are unsure which you need, and the page says it credits in full against a larger engagement within 60 days.
5. Coral Esecure
Best for US and Canadian startups scoping one trust principle: the SOC 2 readiness fee starts at $10,000 for a startup with one Trust Services Criteria category, for US and Canadian entities, and the page calls its figures estimates. The CPA fee is separate.
6. Cyber Forte
Best for Australian startups: fixed SOC 2 pricing from 8,000, after a free 30-minute assessment. The page does not state the currency. It lists an AI compliance platform as included, and the firm describes itself as Australian-owned.
Firms 7 to 11 price SOC 2 as a monthly or annual programme, so the total depends on how long you stay.
7. Atoro
Best for EU and UK startups that want a fixed monthly price for a managed programme: TrustOps costs EUR 1,500, 3,000 or 4,500 a month (GBP 1,300, 2,600 or 3,900 for UK clients) for one, two or unlimited frameworks, on a 12-month term for up to 50 people. A pen test is included in the top plan and an add-on from EUR 3,000 on the others; the platform licence is separate. A named security lead in Ireland or the UK runs it. Prices last reviewed on 5 August 2026.
8. TrustedCISO
Best for startups that want one monthly team from readiness into ongoing compliance: the SOC 2 Launch plan starts at $5,000 a month for 3 to 12 months, followed by Sustain from $1,500 a month or Ascend from $3,000 a month. Its FAQ puts the readiness accelerator at roughly $15,000 to $20,000 in total over 3 to 4 months, with the audit priced separately through its audit partners.
9. Eden Data
Best for startups that want a programme sized by framework count: a single-framework compliance programme begins at $5,000 a month and runs 3 to 12 months; the price adjusts with the number of frameworks.
10. CITSAP
Best for startups comparing monthly managed compliance tiers: single-framework managed compliance starts at $3,000, $5,000 and $7,500 a month across three tiers, with terms of 3 to 12, 6 to 12 and 12 months. The highest of the three adds basic vCISO services.
11. Genius GRC
Best for startups that want SOC 2 inside a broader managed compliance and advisory CISO programme: it starts at about $21,000 a year, sold as fixed-fee engagements, and covers SOC 2, ISO 27001 and other frameworks.
How to Read SOC 2 Consultancy Prices
A consultancy price usually covers the readiness work only; the auditor, the compliance platform and months of upkeep are often separate lines. Check these four before you compare two quotes.
Readiness fee vs audit fee. In most of these offers the readiness consultant and the CPA firm are paid separately. Coral Esecure and Control and Function exclude the audit fee in writing, while SecureLeap's All-In plan puts the audit fee and the penetration test on one invoice. For what the audit itself costs, see our SOC 2 certification cost breakdown and our list of SOC 2 audit firms.
Platform licences. A compliance platform such as Vanta or Drata is usually a separate subscription on top of the consulting fee. Atoro states that the licence is separate, while Cyber Forte lists a platform as included. Our Vanta vs Drata vs Secureframe comparison covers platform pricing.
Monthly retainers vs one-off packages. A monthly price becomes a total only when you multiply it by the term. Atoro runs on a 12-month term and TrustedCISO Launch and Eden Data run 3 to 12 months, so compare a monthly offer with a one-off package over the same period, in the same currency.
Type 1 vs Type 2. A Type 2 report costs more because the auditor tests your controls over an observation window and the consultant supports you through it. Dcybr's fixed packages show the step: $12,000 for Type 1 readiness and $18,000 for Type 2. Our SOC 2 Type 1 vs Type 2 guide explains which one buyers ask for.
How to Choose a SOC 2 Consultancy
Match the price model to your team size, deadline and existing tools, then ask three firms to quote the same scope. These five rules narrow the list.
- Team size: under 25 people on one cloud environment, Dcybr publishes fixed packages for your band; under 50 people, Atoro's three plans are priced for your size.
- Deadline from the enterprise buyer: SecureLeap's Gap Assessment tells you what is missing in 2 to 3 weeks, and the shortest published readiness timeline is Control and Function's 4 to 8 weeks of coaching. A Type 2 report then needs its observation window on top; see how long SOC 2 takes.
- Existing tooling: if you already pay for a compliance platform, ask each firm to work inside it, and check whether a quote bundles a platform you would not use (Cyber Forte includes one). Com Sec lists GRC platform support in its package.
- Ongoing vCISO support: if you want security leadership after the audit, compare the firms that publish both: SecureLeap Navigator at $2,500 or EUR 2,500 a month and Com Sec from $2,500 a month. Our vCISO cost guide explains what each level buys.
- ISO 27001 as well: Com Sec, Atoro and Genius GRC publish prices that cover ISO 27001 too, and SecureLeap quotes ISO 27001 after a scoping call. See ISO 27001 consulting for startups for running both frameworks.

SOC 2 Consultancy Pricing FAQ
Short answers to the questions startups ask most about SOC 2 consulting prices, from the same published prices.
How much does a SOC 2 consultant cost for a startup?
Among the 11 consultancies compared here, one-off entry prices run from $3,995 to $12,000 and full readiness packages reach $25,000, checked on 3 November 2026. The CPA audit fee is usually separate.
Is the SOC 2 audit fee included in the consultant price?
Usually not: Coral Esecure and Control and Function exclude the CPA audit fee in writing. A few firms bundle it, such as the SecureLeap All-In plan, which puts the audit fee and the penetration test on one invoice.
Can a SOC 2 consultant also be your auditor?
No. Only a licensed CPA firm can issue a SOC 2 report, and it cannot independently audit controls it designed and built for you, so readiness and audit are separate engagements.
How much more does SOC 2 Type 2 cost than Type 1?
Type 2 costs more because the auditor tests your controls over an observation window, usually 3 to 12 months. Dcybr shows the step in its fixed readiness packages: $12,000 for Type 1 and $18,000 for Type 2.
How long does SOC 2 readiness take with a consultant?
Published readiness timelines run from 4 to 8 weeks of coaching (Control and Function) to 3 to 12 months for monthly programmes such as Eden Data and TrustedCISO. A Type 2 report then needs its observation window on top.
How do I compare SOC 2 consultant quotes?
Put every quote in the same rows: readiness work, platform licence, penetration test, audit fee and any monthly fee, each in its own currency. Then compare quotes for the same scope (team size, cloud environments and Trust Services Criteria), not headline prices.
